Kabul’s great sightseeing place Band-e-Qargha (Qargha Dam)

Bande-e-Qargha (Qargha Dam) is one of the greatest sightseeing places in Kabul city. This dam has been handed over to private sectors, which has refurbished and paid extra attention in its decoration and setting places for families. But, no attention has been paid on its swimming section that takes lives of young swimmers every year.

Ahmad shekeb a young afghan says,” Qargha Dam is an interesting place, but some youths who can not swim, give their lives and add to their families’ sorrow. Meanwhile, the authorities can not offer any kind of help as they have not been provided with.”

Mohammad Hanif a police man added “we do not have any kinds of facility to rescue the people except a boat and a hook to pull out the dead bodies. We ask our government and other NGOs and Aid Agencies to train our staff and provide us necessary tools for rescue so that we will be able to save lives of those who can not swim well.

 

Afghanistan children’s Training and Educational Circus Championship 2007

This Children Circus Championship that was participated by 140 Artists of various art fields, ended with the closing ceremony. Medals and gifts have been handed over to the lucky winners.

Masooda one of Circus Training Center and Rukhshana High School student said” I got the first prize in this competition, which was a sewing machine; I wish all kids try hard like me and get appreciation letters and prizes.”

Mr. Sher Ahmad Popal Director of Afghanistan Circus Training Center added “this championship was designed for students of our Circus Training Center and their motivation; we distributed 3 prizes for the winners. I hope all Afghan kids learn arts besides their school subjects and serve their people and country through their arts.

 

Afghan girl gets the 1st prize in Asian Countries Children’s Arts Competition

An Afghan girl, who had the passion for Arts and painting in her house, had candidate her painting for Asian Children’s Arts Competition and got the first prize award. The painting shows aggression and violence on Afghan women. Besides the 1st prize, the 2nd and 3rd prizes’ winners were Afghan kids respectively.

Distribution of Power Generators Repairing Training Course’s achievement certificates

The workshop of power Generators repairing training course which was funded by German Embassy, has been successfully completed.

Luckily 22 trainees of Tahye Maskan dormitory youths, who started this course 4 months ago, got their certificates of achievements and are able to establish their power generators repairing shops around Kabul city and generate their families’ financial costs through that.

Mr. Israr one of the trainees said” four months ago a training course was launched by German Embassy and now that this workshop is completed and we have received our achievement certificates, will be able to prepare our families financial costs”.

Mrs. Sameera representative of the Emergency Rebuilding Organizations added about the importance of such training courses,” establishment of such training and vocational courses are very important for students to learn practically and when graduated, find a job, be financially independent and help their families in the future”.

Afghan Street Footballer’s team departed to Denmark to join the 4th world street footballers’ championship that will be held in Denmark.

Afghanistan’s under 16 football team’s selection with new method took place under the supervision of Afghan football Association in Kabul National Stadium.

Despite of the warm weather, Afghan Athletes are busy with their practice for indoor championships. However, they have no any kind of technical and professional facilities.
